Riley is now 6 months old! He will go to the doctor on Friday so I'll post his stats then, but first, here is a little about our baby boy.
- He started solid food about a month ago and has taken a liking to Nilla cookies and chocolate chip cookies, which his grandma treats him with whenever she gets the chance. After every sitting he ends up with a bath.
-He is a drool monster! Slobber everywhere! To top it off, if it pools up too much in his mouth he starts spitting and blowing raspberries....GROSS!
-Riley has decided sleeping through the night is overrated. He now wakes up regularly at 3, 5, and finally at 7
-He LOVES his brothers. He lights up when he sees one of them, but I think his favorite is Matthew because he will carry Riley around and play with him on the floor.
- Riley has started giving baby kisses and with all that drool, they're totally wet!
-He does pretty well playing independantly. He has a jumparoo, courtesy of his Aunt Angie, which he spends a lot of time in, a walker, which he has learned to go backwards in... not the way he wants to go, but at least it is somewhere, and he is finally playing on the floor. If he figures out how to push up with his arms and legs at the same time we're gonna be in trouble. For now he rolls and turns circles and can even pull himself forward sometimes.
-Riley is a pretty healthy baby. In 6 months we've only dealt with one cold. yay!
-Riley has started reaching for people! It is so cute but so heartbreaking at the same time. For example, the other night he was sitting in his walker, I went to get keys from Skyler so I could leave and he reached for me thinking I was reaching for him.... poor little guy! He was so sad I didn't pick him up.
-Riley loves food. It doesn't matter what it is, he'll eat it. Surprisingly he's not chunky.
-For a long time he loved his grandma and would go to her and be happy for long periods of time...We took advantage of this for date night, but unfortunately, he is becoming very aware of his surroundings and has decided Mom can only be out of sight for about 30 minutes...any longer and he'll scream until he gets me. I have no idea how this happened! However, he does love people and has no problem being passed around at church. He loves the attention.
and finally....
-Riley has filled our lives with joy in a time when joy is hard to find. We love the light he brings to our home and the good qualities he brings out in everyone around him. He is a good influence in our home and we feel blessed to be his parents.
