Some much needed good news

One evening in the beginning of February we were at Skyler's mom's house visiting.  During this visit Skyler got a phone call for a job interview.  Funny thing is, neither of us recognized the name of the company and can hardly remember applying for the job.  We had recently received some job referrals from Career Builder so that was the first place we looked.  Sure enough, it was a job that was referred by them that we had applied for two weeks earlier. 

Nothing but good feelings came after this phone call.  We had been worried about our EUC expiring and having to go on State Extended benefits.  We have heard that once you're on the state money it is no longer easy to receive money each week...as it should be.  We were dreading this final round of unemployment because of this.  Skyler kept telling me he didn't think we'd have to worry about it, but I, being very skeptical about our situation, did not believe him.  I guess I should have had a little more faith in his inspiration because he was hired the same week his EUC ran out.  That meant we only had to file the state benefits for 2 weeks.  What a blessing! 

He is now employed and the question everyone is asking is, "How does he like it?"  Well, the answer to this question is a complicated, YES.  He is thoroughly enjoying being employed.  The company he works for is perfect for him.  The compensation, decent, for what he is doing, but not enough to get us self-sufficient, which is our goal.  However, we are in no way complaining.  We are grateful for this opportunity, especially since there is no glass ceiling.  In September he will be eligible for a new position and hopefully there will be one open that pays more than what he's getting right now. 

The biggest struggle at the moment is figuring out how to juggle our schedules.  Between Skyler's job, school, and our callings it is proving difficult.  Family scripture study has suffered a little because I can't seem to get myself up at 6am because of the constant sleep interruptions I receive each night from Riley and Teagan.  We try to get it done at night when Skyler gets home from work, but sometimes...like Tuesdays, that becomes a very daunting task.  We will get this back on track.  It is our number 1 goal at the moment.  Luckily, the boys have taken it upon themselves to make sure they read on  their own every morning.  I'm so proud of them for doing that.

We are looking forward to seeing what the future brings and excited about the prospects we see.
