Earlier this year I was a little confused when my kids did not get awards... they always get some kind of award. Then I finally got an invitation to an awards ceremony and was finally informed as to why. They aren't doing "improvement" awards or "All Star Achievement" awards till the end of the year because of the new core standards. Up to this point they have only been giving out awards for attendence and citizenship. Anyone can get an attendance award, but only 2 kids per class get a citizenship award. My kids were not eligilble for attendance awards last tri-mester and no one was selected for citizenship, therefore, no invitation.
Logan, again did not receive an award this trimester, but once informed, that did not surprise me. He is an all star student and more than likely will be receiving his award at the end of the year.
Matthew received an attendance award, which was well earned. Which is why he took his birthday off.
Jayden got the Citizenship Award, which doesn't surprise me. His teachers always have such nice things to say about him.
